| Customer Reviews: Must have for commuters August 27, 2010 beckie811 I got this for my three month old daughter to look at while I commute to work (daycare for her). She is in the car 2 hours every day, and was going stir crazy the first few weeks after I went back to work. This thing it great. She is 5 months old now and still looks at it with intense interest every morning when I change out the cards for her. I only gave it 3 stars on durability because the velcro strip on the back, that holds it to your headrest, has started to come off, but I can figure another way to hang it if I need to. This toy is very simple, but very effective. I would definitely recommend it.
Wimmer Ferguson ROCKS! July 31, 2010 Shabach (Shenandoah Valley of VA, USA) I was searching for a friend's shower. She had asked for any ideas regarding educational stuff we found useful for our children. I immediately thought of Wimmer- Ferguson. I was fresh out of college when we had our first child, and being a Psych. Major, I knew of and understood the value of their products. I used the car seat gallery for all four of my children, and I never had "car issues" with any of them. Front OR rear facing. I had temporarily forgotten about W-F, and marveled at other friends children's problems in the car. DUH! The car seat gallery was the difference! What I liked, is that there were high contrast pictures that I could move around and change as I thought the child may becoming tired of them. Think about it... hours on end looking at the back of a SEAT! No brainer here. IT is the best! I am a little disappointed with the current "model" as it appears Manhattan toy has "altered" the images somewhat in order to appeal to parents, but I guess there is no other place to get it!
Love this Manhattan Toy product June 28, 2010 P. Beuoy Read mixed reviews about this product, but puchased it anyway. It has been money well spent! There are plenty of pictures and patterns that are interchangeable and visually stimulating for newborns and up. It is lightweight and easily wipes clean. You can use the supplied pictures, or easily create your own.
The infant for whom I purchased this gallery absolutely loves to look at it. It easily occupies his attention for an entire car ride. His favorite is the baby, but he stares intently at the other patterns and pictures also.
Unfortunately, the outside edges of the frame/border have curled slightly due to being left in the hot car, but it has not affected the functionality of the product. I didn't like the recommended velcro fastening system for the cars either, but, other than those two minor things, it has been a great product and I'd definitely purchase it again.
Decent distraction for drive time... April 16, 2010 Jarucia Jaycox Nirula (Seattle, WA, USA) Given my baby's love for a number of Manhattan products we own, I added this one to the list of must-have's.
Pros:
~Durable plastic holder can easily handle your own photos when baby is older
~Large images ideal for developing eyes
Cons:
~The velcro rounds on the back of the holder prone to falling off depending on how you hang it in the car
~Not as useful for rear-facing seats as bottom two images obscuring by base (using a Britax seat)
Overall a decent 'toy' for the car at about $10. Baby enjoys it the most when we pass from light to shaded areas thereby 'flashing' light on the images.
Hope this is good! March 12, 2010 Jean E. Kasten (Dresher, PA) 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my 3 yr. old granddaughter based on reviews. When it arrived, I thought it lacking, but I supposed it can be tried on my infant granddaughter when she is in a front-facing car seat. Hard to imagine babies can be charmed by such simple graphics which don't move, but we'll see. Certainly not anything I could see benefiting or entertaining any child over 21 mos. old.
