| Customer Reviews: GREAT for babies' isolettes in the NICU! January 17, 2010 Triste (Virginia) Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2DKY9OF4PWP2 My babies were born at at 26 weeks and spent four long months in the NICU. I put initially one black and white graphic in each isolette, then two, then incorporated color images as well. This is my little guy, out of the isolette and in an open crib at 34 weeks gestation, mesmerized by the kitty graphic (at 3 months adjusted, he still loves it). He would look at it and touch it for twenty to thirty minutes at a time. (I took the video for his Grammy but figured what better testament could I give to the magic of the car seat gallery?)
Good idea but didn't work for us December 26, 2009 mommy2katrina (Elk Grove, CA, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this toy for our son when he was about 2 1/2 months and have had it for 2 months now. Unlike our daughter, our son does not like his carseat. If he is awake in the car for more than a few minutes, it's a given that he will cry, a lot! I'm not able to hang toys from his carseat handle according to safety instructions that came with the carseat (the handle has to be down in the car anyway) so I was looking for something we could use for him to look at for a distraction. He really enjoys his Wimmer Ferguson hanging mobile above his changing table, which we bought at the same time, but for whatever reason he hasn't taken to this one. He does look at it, but only for about a minute before resuming his usual car ride routine of crying/screaming/yelling. Like another reviewer said, it is more helpful to offer him a soft toy to hold, and I just try to time car trips during naps so he sleeps. One quality issue we had--in my opinion the velcro attachments are very flimsy and we had some problems with the gallery staying up, but that is easily fixed by replacing the velcro with heavy duty velcro you can get for cheap at WM. I think this gallery is a good idea and would probably work well for some babies, we just didn't have much luck with it.
Best Infant-Stimulation October 22, 2009 Sandy Escobar I put the car seat gallery in our car when our son was 4-weeks old. He stared at the cards intently for 30 minutes on the way to bring my mother to the airport. We were amazed. These cards calm my child down and holds his attention for a long periods of time. He seems to be studying the cards and starts laughing when he seems them. He can definitely focus well on these cards to our amazement. It was a great purchase. I will recommend this to all of my friends.
great to keep them occupied October 9, 2009 K. Joy (NJ, USA) This is great for about 10-15 minutes in the car and then he does get bored, I change them everytime we get in the car. However I do find my baby gets far more enjoyment out of the mirror and looking out of the window.
Quiet Car Rides! September 23, 2009 lrene (Bellingham, WA) My little guy is vocal! He will not only cry but will scream when he is not happy so car rides were miserable. I tried a mirror, toys on links, and even a mobile that hooked to the window. Nothing worked for more than a few minutes.
I put this in the car when my son was 3 1/2 months old, now he is 5 months. He loves to look at the pictures and coo and talk to them. He often falls asleep now in the car while "talking" to these pictures. He doesn't get bored with them since there are extras and I can change them out at the beginning of each trip. This is a really simple set of picture cards in a large pocket chart. You just put the pictures in the pockets and hang the whole thing from the back seat. Great for rear-facing babies who have little to keep their attention during a car ride. The pictures are high contrast for little ones with developing eyesight. They are also high-interest for babies with patterns and faces to look at. They are durable and the pockets can be wiped clean with wet wipes when needed.
